Laser Treatment & Technologies
At Capital District podiatry, we pride ourselves in staying atop of the latest foot care technology so we can provide you with the best of care. From laser treatments to shockwave therapy, injections, and more, we offer a host of non-invasive, effective, and innovative alternatives to treat your foot problems so you can heal fast, stay active, and remain healthy from head to toe!
Some of the state-of-the-art technologies we offer include:
ClearANail – part of the difficulty in treating stubborn toenail fungus is the fact that medication has a hard time reaching the source of the problem. The ClearANail procedure creates microscopic holes in the affected toenail to allow for medication to penetrate easily and eliminate the fungus beneath the nail.
Cutera GenesisPlus Laser – another highly effective fungal nail treatment, our laser uses a concentrated light beam to harmlessly and painlessly penetrate the nail and zap the fungus infection underneath. Combine this with ClearANail and toenail fungus doesn’t have a chance!
Extracorporeal Pulse Activation Treatment (EPAT) – otherwise known as simply “shockwave therapy,” this is a non-invasive approach to easing pain and accelerating healing, by focusing waves of energy on affected tissues, stimulating the repair and regeneration of new cells, and speeding up the healing process while also reducing pain.
AmnioFix – amniotic membrane, which is chock full of growth factors, is micronized, or broken down, into injectable form. When injected into injury sites, it promotes accelerated tissue regeneration and healing.
EpiFix – similar to AmnioFix, this treatment is mainly used on diabetic wounds. It utilizes amniotic membrane to deliver growth factors as well as other natural materials found in the placenta that enable damaged tissues to heal faster.
Stem Cell Therapy – also known as regenerative medicine, stem cells are removed from your body and scientifically separated into specific types. A concentration of the specific cells needed to address your pain is reinjected into the injury site to promote repair, regeneration, and healing of damaged tissues.
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Injections – platelets are found in your blood and contain proteins, or growth factors, that speed up the healing process. PRP treatment takes your blood and manipulates it to create a mixture with a highly concentrated number of platelets. This is then injected into the source of pain, increasing the growth factors at the site, and thus accelerating tissue regeneration and healing.
